… All reading for pleasure is escape, whether it be Greek, mathematics, astronomy, Benedetto Croce, or ‘The Diary of the Forgotten Man’. To say otherwise is to be an intellectual snob, and a juvenile at the art of living…

I don’t understand this at all, but I would have loved to have been in the meeting when this advertising campaign was decided.

You know all your shows you did? You could have repeated them ten years ago. You know, about the Bush administration and the Iraq war and everything? Yeah, the exact same thing happened twenty years later. Talk about history repeating! Oh, and that stuff about abortion and what not? Same deal. So, basically, thirty years on and little has changed. I think it’s time you come back, fuck up all the Christians by proving that you are in fact the reluctant Messiah, and try and fix this shit again.
But, you know, no one listened to you then, no one will probably listen to you now, right? I don’t blame you.
I just think that, when someone says something profound, it shouldn’t take two thousand years to reach its’ intended audience (seriously Bible, heard of marketing?) and I know that Twitter would basically be the epitomy of what you despise, and so this is ironic… But… You’d love the irony, wouldn’t you?
Please, save us from ourselves.
Cheers then.
